Mt Uncle Distillery makes and sells alcohol. This page explains the age and responsible service rules that apply when you use this website, visit us, or order from us.
You must be 18 or over
Alcohol is sold and supplied only to people aged 18 or over. By ordering from this site, or by buying from us in person, you confirm that you are 18 or over.
In Australia, it is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or to obtain alcohol on behalf of, a person under the age of 18 years.
Proof of age
We may ask for proof of age at any point, including at our cellar door, at an event, or on delivery. Acceptable identification is the identification accepted under Queensland liquor law. If proof of age is not provided when we ask for it, we cannot supply alcohol to you.
The age check on this website
When you first visit this site you are asked to confirm that you are 18 or over. That is a self declaration. It records only your answer, and it is stored in your own browser. We do not collect your date of birth through it.
This declaration is not an identification check. It does not replace any identification we are required to sight before supplying alcohol, and it does not by itself entitle anyone to buy alcohol from us.
Delivery and collection
Alcohol can only be handed to a person aged 18 or over. Someone aged 18 or over must be present to receive a delivery, and proof of age may be required at the door. The same applies if you collect an order from us.
Responsible service
We support the responsible service of alcohol. We may refuse to sell or supply alcohol where we are required to do so by law or by the conditions of our liquor licences, including where a person is under 18, cannot provide proof of age, appears to be unduly intoxicated, or where we believe the alcohol is being bought for someone under 18.
We may refuse, cancel or refund an order for any of these reasons.
Our liquor licences
Mt Uncle Distillery holds Queensland liquor licences. Our licence numbers are displayed in the footer of every page of this site. Our supply of alcohol, including sale, delivery and collection, is subject to those licences and to applicable Queensland and Australian law, and their conditions continue to apply at all times.
